One of the few remaining undeveloped plots of land overlooking Lake Austin will become home to a truly impressive standalone condominium development operated by the Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts, and will feature luxurious perks including one glass funicular (inclined cable railway), thirty private boat slips, and downtown views.
The 145-acre site, known currently as Camelback tract, is located just west of the Pennybacker bridge on Shepherd Mountain, and is owned by Austin Capital Partners CEO Jonathan Coon. According to Coon, half of Camelback tract will be donated to the city and set aside for public green space, including a hike and bike trail and scenic overlook.
The development, named Four Seasons Private Residences Lake Austin, will total 179 high-end homes and 18 buildings, each four stories high, with homes ranging from 1,900 to a whopping 7,000 square feet. Residents will have private on-site access to two restaurants, pools, a spa and fitness facility.
Construction is set to begin early 2023, with completion sometime in late 2025. The Four Seasons Private Residences at Lake Austin have not yet specified the process of purchasing one of these luxe homes, but prices are expected to start at $4,000,000.
This development is sure to be one of the most magnificent properties Austin has ever seen, and stands as further proof that the city is quickly becoming a center for economical and cultural growth. Projects like these make it an exciting time to be an Austinite! We certainly can’t wait to see what else is in store for our great city.
