Austin Holiday Events 

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And Austin is the most wonderful place to spend it. As always, there are tons of fun events happening all around the city perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. So bundle up, pile in, and head on out to one of these festive holiday events going on now through the end of the month!

What: The fifth-annual decked-out “over-the-top interactive Christmas pop-up experience” and cocktail bar hosted by the talented team at The Roosevelt Room. Specialty cocktails include the “Christmapolitan,” “Snowball Old Fashioned,” “Jingle Balls Nog,” and “Bad Santa.” Don’t miss the nostalgic snacks and cherry beer either, or Yule be sorry.

When: Now through Dec. 28 

Where: The Eleanor

What: The 59th Annual production of The Nutcracker ballet presented by the Georgia B. Lucas Foundation Fund. Tickets range from $20 in the balcony to $99 in orchestra section.

When: Now through Dec. 23 

Where: The Long Center

What: A “magical, marvelous and magnificent Holiday drive-thru experience” featuring a full stage production with music, dancing, and Santa Clause himself, a mistletoe kissing booth, a “Peppermint Express” holiday train, and over seven million sparkling lights to enjoy. 

When: Now through Dec. 26

What: A vibrant holiday light display celebrating “winter’s natural beauty,” with food, drink, and a light-filled “Fort-landia” display the kids will love. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for ages 5-17, with free admission for kiddos 4 and under.

When: Now through Jan. 30 (Closed on Dec. 24, 25, 31 & Jan. 1) 

Where: Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

What: A 3-day artisan gallery and shopping destination featuring national and local award-winning artists, live music, and a full bar – this year in a festive, outdoor atmosphere. Enjoy downtown views and knock out some gift shopping! 

When: Dec. 17-19

Where: Outside at Palmer Events Center

What: An outdoor ice rink with special event “snow nights” where skaters can glide around the ice as artificial snow falls all around them. A Texan Winter Wonderland!

When: Now through Jan. 1 (Closed Christmas) 

Where: Lakeside Park in Marble Falls, alongside the Walkway of Lights

What: The 57th annual holiday light extravaganza in the heart of Austin’s beloved Zilker Park, this year as a pre-paid only drive-thru experience + walk-up Zilker Holiday Tree with vendors for hot cocoa, sweet treats, grilled cheese and soup, kettle corn, pretzels, and more! Spin spin spin away, but be sure to wear your mask this year as they are required.

When: Now through Dec. 31

Where: Zilker Park

What: A show, a party, a festive way to ring in the new year in one of Austin’s most iconic venues. 

When: Dec. 31 at 8 pm
