Valentine’s Day is not just for couples, and if you are single and looking to mingle, Austin has some great events for you to attend on the 14th and during the week prior. Not looking for a date? That’s okay! These events are for everyone, including one event that involves your furry best friend. As a plus, a few of them actually reward you for flying solo by offering perks to those that prove their singleness. Read on!
1. Valentine’s Day at W Austin
In its usual splendor, W Austin’s Living Room Bar and Trace Restaurant are entertaining you during the evening and getting you back on your feet in the morning. On Feb. 14 beginning at 5 p.m., there will be candy necklace making available in the bar’s Tequila Bar and Records Room. There will be sample treats and Valentines to send to that special someone if you find him or her during your visit. Prove your singleness by showing your Bumble app for a free drink, and get another complimentary drink should you meet that special someone. Whether the fun that evening comes to an end or not, Trace restaurant is ready for you in the morning with pancakes and mimosas.
2. Date My Dog at Jo’s Coffee
Celebration of love on Valentine’s Day is not limited to humans, and Jo’s Coffee is having a Date My Dog event on February 7th. You’ll get free drinks and giveaways when you show your Bumble app, and there will be a photo booth to commemorate your relationship with your furry friend. Don’t have a dog? Maybe today’s the day you rescue one. The Humane Society will be there with an adoption station.
3. Galantine’s Celebration at Adelante Boutique
Bumble is not just a dating app, and if you show your app at Adelante Boutique Feb. 9, you’ll get complimentary treats and beverages to share with all of your friends. 4. Chocolate Tasting at Delysia Chocolatier
If you want to experience award-winning gourmet chocolate this Valentine’s Day with or without a partner, go to Delysia Chocolatier on Valentine’s Day at 11:00 a.m. Chocolate tasting actually happens each Saturday and Sunday at their tasting room, but Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to finally make it there and learn how to truly appreciate chocolate. They’re open for tasting from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
5. Valentine’s Date Night on Lake Austin
Mozart’s Coffee Roasters is reserving their lakeside deck for a candlelit desert for you and your date or your friends. There will be live music and a 3 course dessert tasting paired with coffee. Tickets are only $75 a couple for a beautiful setting and some yummy treats.
Austin has plenty of places that reward you for being single during this holiday, so don’t stay home just because you don’t have a date. Get out there and celebrate!
